Cricket Highlights, April 20 North America Cup 2025 (4th Match) – BER vs CAY

BER vs CAY (4th Match) – Highlights

George Town witnessed a lively encounter between BER and the CAY in the 4th match of the North America T20 Cup on April 20, 2025. Bermuda, after setting a modest yet competitive total of 137, outclassed the Cayman Islands with the ball and clinched a convincing 30-run victory to strengthen their position in the tournament.

Batting first after winning the toss, Bermuda’s top order showed intent despite not running away with the game. Captain Terryn Fray anchored the innings with a patient 38 off 40 balls, setting the platform with a steady start. His opening partner, Alex Dore, added some early momentum with a brisk 20 off 16 before falling leg-before to Adrian Wright. The innings had a stop-start rhythm as Jarryd Richardson and Delray Rawlins both got starts, but failed to convert them into big scores.

Rawlins, known for his aggressive intent, struck a couple of boundaries on his way to 27 off 20 before getting caught in the deep. But the real impact came from Dominic Sabir, whose late-innings cameo of 19* from just 12 balls gave Bermuda the finishing kick they needed. Allan Douglas chipped in with 13 before being cleaned up by Romario Edwards, who ended with figures of 2 for 24.

Although BER did not post a high total, they looked comfortable defending 137, and their bowlers backed it up superbly. CAY, chasing 138, lost early wickets and never recovered. Jermaine Baker made a valiant 54 off 51 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes to try and keep CAY in the game, but didn’t get any meaningful support from the other end.

Sacha De Alwis departed early, and although Akshay Naidoo spent some time at the crease, his 17 off 23 balls lacked the urgency the chase required. The real collapse came in the middle overs, with Sabir and Kevon Fubler running riot. Sabir claimed three wickets for just 14 runs, including the crucial scalp of Baker, while Fubler mirrored that feat with his own 3-wicket haul for 17 runs. In a chaotic spell between overs 13 and 16, Cayman lost six wickets for just 13 runs, turning the contest into a one-sided affair.

Captain Conroy Wright offered some late resistance with an unbeaten 21 off 20 balls, but the damage had been done. At the end of their innings, the Cayman Islands could only manage 107 for 8 in their 20 overs, well short of the target. Dominic Sabir was the rightful Player of the Match for an outstanding all-round performance – 3 wickets, and a useful 19 not out, which was vital at the end.

USA vs BHM (3rd Match) – Highlights

It was a day to remember for the United States of America as they steamrolled the Bahamas by a staggering 149 runs in the 3rd match of the North America T20 Cup held at George Town on April 20, 2025. Led by a blistering century from captain Monank Patel, USA’s batting firepower proved far too hot for the Bahamian bowlers, who had no answers to the relentless assault. The result was inevitable once the Americans posted a daunting total of 217/4 in their 20 overs.

USA opted to bat first, and it wasn’t long before the fireworks began. Opener Rahul Jariwala played a steady hand with 35 off 31 balls, ensuring the innings had a solid foundation. Saiteja Mukkamalla’s brief stay (16 off 11) was ended by Romaine Smith, but what followed next turned the match into a one-man show.

Skipper Monank Patel tore into the Bahamas bowling attack, smashing 104 runs off just 49 balls. His innings, laced with 8 boundaries and 6 sixes, was a masterclass in power hitting and precise timing. He reached his hundred with the swagger of a man batting on a different pitch altogether.

Supporting Monank was Aaron Jones, who played a blistering cameo of his own – 35 runs off just 17 deliveries, including three towering sixes. The USA middle-order ensured the momentum never dipped, with Milind Kumar adding an unbeaten 16 off 11 to cap off the innings. Bahamas bowlers toiled under pressure. Romaine Smith was the pick, claiming two wickets for 36, but others like Sandeep Goud (1/54) and Marc Taylor (0/46) faced the full wrath of the American batsmen.

Chasing a mammoth target of 218 was always going to be a mountain for BHM, and unfortunately for them, they never got near the summit. Their innings was a painful struggle from the outset, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Only Captain Marc Taylor (19 off 21) and Kervon Hinds (15 off 16) showed any signs of resistance. The rest crumbled against a disciplined and ruthless USA bowling lineup.

Vatsal Vaghela stood out with an impressive 3 for 12 in his four overs, dismantling the middle order with clever variations and tight lines. Yasir Mohammad chipped in with 2 for 14, while Akhilesh Reddy and Ayan Desai each bagged a wicket. Even Sanjay Krishnamurthi bowled economically, returning figures of 0/8 in his three overs. Milind Kumar bowled one over and didn’t concede a single run, highlighting USA’s complete control over the match.

BHM could only muster 68/9 in their 20 overs, limping to the finish line with barely a whimper. It was a commanding performance from the USA team, who showcased depth in both batting and bowling, sending a strong message to the rest of the competition. Monank Patel, unsurprisingly, was named Player of the Match for his sensational century – the innings that laid the groundwork for this massive victory.

The Lucknow Super Giants are finding momentum at just the right time in the tournament. With a balanced squad and a thrilling last-ball win in their previous match, they are building confidence with every game.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, are trying to bounce back from a tough defeat in their last match. The side has shown flashes of brilliance this season, particularly with their batting firepower.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Delhi Capitals Team Preview & Squads

Lucknow Super Giants

Rishabh Pant has been leading the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025 with a classic brand of aggression as the captain. Since taking back his role full time, Pant’s glove work has been lightning behind the stumps and he has showed up for valuable cameos.

LSG’s batting lineup features a strong middle order with the likes of Nicholas Pooran, David Miller, and Ayush Badoni delivering consistent performances. The team also has flexible options in Aiden Markram and Matthew Breetzke who can adapt to different situations.

Lucknow’s bowling attack is lead by the fiery pace of Mayank Yadav and the crafty spin of Ravi Bishnoi, while Shardul Thakur and Avesh Khan are dependable in the powerplay and the death. They can go anywhere thanks to the variety of their attack and Dinesh Karthik allows them to counter any surface or opposition plans.

In their previous outing against Rajasthan Royals on April 19, 2025, LSG registered a thrilling 2-run win in Jaipur. They posted a competitive 180/5, with solid contributions from their middle order. The bowlers held their nerve in the death overs to restrict RR to 178/5.
